Partners in Education (PiE) is the joint campaign of the All Schools Fund (ASF) and Palo Alto Foundation for Education (PAFE). To realize our town’s immense potential for supporting public schools, these parent-driven organizations, in the midst of a merger, need YOUR help to deliver funds to YOUR child’s school. We’ve divided up the jobs so that everyone can lend a hand!

We are seeking fun, talented and dedicated volunteers who want a part-time role and a big-time impact in providing critical resources for the 17 schools that shape all of our children’s future.   1. Major Donor Team: Seeking dedicated people to locate, cultivate, recognize and retain donors who contribute 2,500 or more annually to the Foundation (including goods, services and sponsorships). Experience with development or sales ideal.

  2. Online Auction Team: Seeking a team of people to manage the February 2005 online auction in conjunction with a planned “Honor Your Teacher” direct appeal campaign to benefit Teacher Grants. This job will directly benefit PAUSD teachers, and anyone with the desire to help teachers, or with auction, writing/promotion or database background, is desired.

  3. Foundation Newsletter Team: Seeking communications volunteers to write and produce a 4-8-page community newsletter to report results, recognize
    donors and feature upcoming goals of the foundation.

  4. Middle & High School Campaign Team: Seeking enthusiastic secondary school parents/alumni to join existing fund-raising team to manage the $500,000 campaign to benefit Gunn, Paly, JLS, Jordan and Terman schools in 2004-‘05. Development, sales or communications background a plus.

  5. Graphic Arts Chair/Co-Chair: Graphics geniuses make EVERYTHING look better. Seeking 1-2 talented people to design high impact graphics and page layouts for PTA newsletter promos; campaign flyers; fact sheets; invitations, etc.

  6. Public Relations Chair/Co-Chair: Seeking folks to coordinate press relations; write periodic press releases for campaigns and events; provide content for Foundation newsletter/annual report; update web content, etc. Writing, publicity or press relations background ideal.

  7. Campaign Communications Chair/Co-Chair: Need volunteer(s) to write and manage regular campaign communications to schools, including working with Graphic Arts Chair to create dynamic monthly campaign updates for all PTA newsletters. Strong communications, writing or publicity background desired.

  8. Event Chair/Co-Chair: Seeking 1-2 talented people to plan for fall/spring campaign and donor events and parties. This fun job would include managing guest mailing/rsvp process; coordinating facilities and refreshments; and staffing volunteers needed for hosting duties.

  9. Web Chair/Co-Chair: Seeking web gurus to maintain the existing Partners in Education website (www.papie.org); refresh content regularly; create web links and/or update blurbs for school web sites, etc. Strong web site management/development background desired (Dreamweaver).

  10. – FILLED - Research Chair/Co-Chair: Seeking at-home volunteers to gather school and foundation funding and performance data from other districts/foundations as needed for strategic planning and marketing. Ideal limited time contribution.

  11. – FILLED - eScrip/Schoolpop/Peet’s/Etc. Chair/Co-Chair: Seeking 1-2 volunteers to develop, launch and manage an eScrip and other co-benefit community campaign plan to benefit the Foundation.
