For the 2012-2013 school year, generous donations from parents and community members will allow PiE to provide $201,729 to Hays. These funds will be used to benefit every Hays student by:

• Funding more than half of the general classroom aide time, so that all classrooms will get multiple hours of aide time weekly, facilitating small group and individual learning. Aides are a crucial part of the individualized instruction that Hays teachers are working to give every child
• Funding an increase in the time for Hays’ reading specialist to work with more students and teachers on essential reading skills and strategies
• Paying for twice-monthly Spectra art classes, so that all classrooms get regular art lessons and the opportunity to build confidence and creativity through artistic expression
• Funding 100% of the supplemental science program with regular visits from the Junior Museum and Zoo, so that all students receive vivid, hands-on science instruction
• Funding 100% of Dr. Benson’s Perceptual Motor program, helping all Hays kids refine large motion skills during these crucial developmental years
