Our Programs
Walter Hays Elementary School

 

 

For the 2011-2012 school year, generous donations from parents and community members has allowed PiE to provide $176,884 to Hays. These funds are used on campus:

 

- To fund about half of the general classroom aide time, so that all classrooms will get at multiple hours of aide time weekly, facilitating small group and individual learning

- To fund twice-monthly Spectra art classes, so that all classrooms get regular art lessons and the opportunity to build confidence and creativity through artistic expression

- To fund 100% of the supplemental science program with regular visits from the Junior Museum and Zoo, so that all students receive vivid, hands-on science instruction

- To fund 100% of Dr. Benson’s Perceptual Motor program, helping all Hays kids refine large motion skills during these crucial developmental years
