During the 2012-2013 school year, generous donations from parents and community members have allowed PiE to provide Juana Briones with $146,578 for use on campus. These funds provide outstanding science and art instruction, and help every child to get more attention by funding classroom aides. At Briones, donations to PiE help every student by:

• Helping to fund the general classroom aides who work with kids in every classroom for at least 8 hours per week (PiE pays for more than half of this time)
• Paying for Karen Kessler to provide an enhanced science program for all grades, including intensive use of the science lab, regular classroom sessions, program outreach, and materials and teacher mentoring. (PiE pays for 100% of Karen's salary)
• Funding Wendy Perry, the Spectra Arts Instructor who teaches every child creativity and confidence weekly or biweekly, depending on grade. (PiE pays for 100% of Wendy?s time.)
