Jordan Middle School

"A strong education offers one both rigorous academic, and enriching classroom experiences. PiE funding allows us to provide an engaging, supportive, and rich middle school experience for all of our students. Your generous contributions help support over 30 different elective courses, outstanding music and foreign language programs, extensive technology mentoring for our students and teachers, and a full-time counselor at every grade level. At Jordan Middle School, the funds generously donated by parents and community members have allowed PiE to provide Jordan with $273,782. The money will be spent in 2012-13 in these vital areas to benefit all students:

• Additional Electives — Donations to PiE enrich the electives environment at Jordan. PiE funds will contribute to creative writing, music sectionals and specialists, choir and accompanist, biotechnology, Jordan TV (video production), regional & world foods, and an expansion in the language program in French and Spanish. PiE dollars allow Jordan to offer a wide array of electives so that kids can discover subjects they love in school
• Student Support — Gifts to PiE help fund additional counselor’s time, making it possible for each grade at Jordan to have its own counselor who will travel all three years with the same kids, allowing the counselors to know and support every student better
• Teacher and Classroom Support — PiE donors provide a teacher coach to help integrate writing skills throughout all grades at Jordan. They also pay for a technology mentor to help all Jordan teachers best use technology in their curricula, and also for a computer lab tech to work with teachers and students in the school’s computer lab to ensure that time in the lab is spent productively and efficiently. Without PiE donations, the school’s computer lab could not be staffed to offer this support.
