Our Programs
Jordan Middle School

At Jordan Middle School, the funds generously donated by parents and community members have allowed PiE to provide Jordan with $236,795. The money is spent in 2011-12 in these targeted and vital areas:

 

Additional Electives, 59%. - PiE funds enrich the electives environment at Jordan. PiE funds will contribute to creative writing, music sectionals and specialists, choir and accompanist, architectural drawing (a new class), biotechnology, Jordan TV (video production), regional & world foods, and Focus On Success (intervention for general-ed students needing study skills support). Without PiE dollars, Jordan’s electives will be decreasing, not increasing.

 

Student Support, 19%. - PiE funds pay for part of the counselor’s time as well as part of a Psychologist. PiE donations make it possible for each grade at Jordan to have its own counselor who will travel all three years with the same kids, allowing the counselors to know and support every student better.

 

Instructional Technology, 21%. - PiE funds pay for a technology mentor to help all Jordan teachers best use technology in their curricula, and also for a computer lab tech to work with teachers and students in the school’s computer lab to ensure that time in the lab is spent productively and efficiently. Without PiE donations, the school’s computer lab could not be staffed to offer this support.
