Our Programs
Escondido Elementary School

 

For the 2011-2012 school year, support from parents and community members have allowed PiE to provide $189,424 for use at Escondido. During this school year, the funds are used:

 

- To pay for about 80% of the general classroom aide time, so that all children receive multiple hours of vital classroom aide time weekly

- To pay for 100% of the supplemental science instructor, Mary Jo Ricci, so that all students receive at least one 5-6 week unit of experiential, hands-on science instruction

- To fund our Spectra art teachers, Alejandra Hermandinger, Sandra Nielson, and Alex Provo, so that all classrooms benefit from regular art instruction, for multi-dimensional learning, creativity, and confidence

- To fund part of the reading specialist time, Kaisey Hake, so that all children who need help from a reading specialist may be helped at Escondido
