Our Programs
Teacher Grants
The PiE Teacher Grant Program was established in 1987 by Partners in
Education's predecessor organization, Palo Alto Foundation for Education. More than
$1 million has been awarded in 48 rounds of teacher grants, the most recent in
Spring 2011.
The PiE Teacher Grant Program has evolved recently to emphasize
innovation and collaboration. The program welcomes applications from teachers and
other staff who are seeking to innovate, to create, and to work together with
others. Special consideration is given to grant applications that will encourage
collaboration among grade levels or different schools. The grant committee also
prefers to see grants where the lessons learned from the funds granted can be
expanded to benefit other grades or schools.
To allow grant funds to be used earlier in the school year, we will
now offer grants in only one round in the fall.
