Xin Liu

Xin Liu co-founded and directs Enlight Foundation and Xinping Foundation, devoted to helping Chinese students with their education both in China and in the United States through scholarships and fellowships, as well as building children’s libraries in rural China. Enlight Foundation continues to support numbers of local causes in the Bay Area.

 

Born and raised in China, Xin worked for a dozen years as a journalist, including three years in some of the poorest parts of rural China documenting women and children’s educational conditions. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1993 as an award-winning photojournalist, published and exhibited internationally. Xin has a BA in Journalism from Renmin University in Beijing, and a MA of Communications from Ohio University.  She has two children at Barron Park Elementary School.
