Board of Directors

 

Director – Finance & Administration: Karen French Neuman

 

Since moving to Palo Alto in 2002 with her husband and two children, Karen has been actively volunteering at Walter Hays and Jordan. She has served on the PTA Board at Walter Hays as Treasurer for two years and Secretary for two years. For the past two years she has been Secretary for the Jordan PTA. Currently Karen is serving as treasurer for four different organizations: Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Walter Hays 5th grade activities and campaign treasurer for a Palo Alto city council member. Prior to moving to Palo Alto, Karen served on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers, Big Sisters and was Treasurer of her Las Madres group. Additionally, she currently volunteers in a Walter Hays third grade classroom tutoring students in math.

 

Karen is a certified public accountant (inactive) and spent twelve years in public accounting, primarily as an auditor. She began working in tax and audit with Hood and Strong here in Palo Alto. After five years she changed firms and worked with Deloitte and Touche in San Jose as an audit manager and senior manager. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Accountancy.
