Board of Directors
Vice President – Marketing & Communications: Karen Matthys
Karen Matthys has more than 20 years of marketing and business strategy experience. Karen is a Principal at Indigo Partners consulting firm (www.indigoHQ.com), focusing on brand strategy, positioning, new product and service launches, and marketing strategic plans. Prior to consulting, she was Director of Marketing Strategy at Cellular One. Karen also worked in various marketing management positions at Apple Computer in Cupertino and Japan.
In addition to activities at Indigo Partners and PiE, Karen serves on the PAUSD Sustainable Schools Committee. She has also led various school activities and volunteered as a math teacher assistant at Nixon Elementary School and Terman Middle School. Karen also spent eight years on the board of TheatreWorks, where she led brand strategy, individual donor fundraising, and trustee development committees.
Karen received an MBA from Stanford University and a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia. She has three children at Nixon, Terman and Castilleja schools.
