Board of Directors

 

Director – Marketing & Communication: Heidi Emberling

 

Heidi Emberling joins the PiE Board this year after being actively involved in the parent community at Juana Briones elementary, including serving as Co-President of the PTA. As a parenting educator and early childhood specialist at Parents Place, Heidi teaches parent-child classes for families with young children ages 0-5. She also does assessments in preschool settings for behavioral issues and provides individual family consultations on a wide variety of parenting issues.

 

Heidi also currently serves on the Palo Alto Child Care Advisory Committee (CCAC), working to increase accessibility and affordability of our high-quality early childhood programs. Previously, she served on the Community Advisory Council for First 5 San Mateo County and as past-President of the San Mateo Council of Parent-Participation Nursery Schools.

 

Heidi has a BA in Language Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz, a Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's Degree in Education from San Francisco State University. She has a son in third grade and a daughter in first grade at Juana Briones Elementary School.
