Board of Directors

 

Director – Marketing & Communication: Heidi Emberling

 

Heidi Emberling is beginning her second year on the PiE Board. She enjoys writing for the PiE newsletters and other PiE communications and being Co-Chair for PiE Fair, our huge thank-you party to the community! She is actively involved in the parent community at Juana Briones elementary, including serving as President of the Site Council and past-President of the PTA. As a parenting educator and early childhood specialist at Parents Place, Heidi teaches parent-child classes for families with young children ages 0-5. She also does assessments in preschool settings for behavioral issues and provides individual family consultations on a wide variety of parenting issues.

 

Heidi also currently serves on the Palo Alto Advisory Committee on Early Care and Education, advocating for high quality early childhood educational environments on behalf of families and children in Palo Alto. Previously, she served on the Community Advisory Council for First 5 San Mateo County and as past-President of the San Mateo Council of Parent-Participation Nursery Schools.

 

Heidi has a BA in Language Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz, a Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's Degree in Education from San Francisco State University. She has a son in fourth grade and a daughter in second grade at Juana Briones Elementary School.
